I took an extra day off with Drew in honor of our anniversary. The entire time we've been working on the mudroom/pantry I've been embarrassed to photograph the actual pantry portion of this space. It was a mess. Big time.
I decided that if I was going to go to all the trouble of making this space over, the pantry deserved to be cleaned/organized. This morning I set out on that task. Sheesh, not a small task. Took HOURS! I'm so ashamed of just how much expired food I tossed out.
Made a quick run to the Dollar store and Wally World for some containers and baskets, and the pantry is now looking organized and tidy. For those of us with OCD, this is bliss.
Wonder how long it will last.
Here are a few pics of the other goodies we've added in the past couple days.
The amazing hooks that Drew put up while I was out:
Kita likes it. {check out my lunch bag compared to Drew's}
They are like emo squid!
These were a steal at Lowes. a 2 pack for $2.50 ea.
In this pic you can see that I painted the center panel of the half bath door with chalkboard paint.
We are huge Potter nerds and we think the message on the door is hysterical.
I grabbed a $5 picture frame at the WM and painted the glass insert with more chalkboard paint:
Attached it with some Command adhesives. What did we ever do without those? I think this message is hysterical too. I kill me.
I found the rug at Home Depot for $10:
Not exactly what I had envisioned for this space, but I really think it's pretty. I also found this outdoor chair cushion {in the wrong spot in the store, so I got it at a lower price} for $14 also at Home Depot for the litter box/bench:
The rug in front I already had.
And, the newly organized pantry {BIG project for me}:
A couple shots from the kitchen door looking into the space:
Max likes it too. :-)
Still a couple more decor projects need to be finished, then I will be onto the next project! What WILL it be?!?!?
Thanks for all the lovely comments about my first re-do with real power tools. Means the world to me! I LOVE you guys! {group hug}
P.S. Can I just tell ya how hard it is to photograph this space??? Gah.
XOXO
